The Sounds of Soul are returning to Sandusky by popular demand. They are a high energy group composed of nine seasoned performers who are outstanding singers, dancers, instrumentalists, and songwriters. They sing the hits of Motown as well as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, and more.
Sounds of Soul will be offering a Sunday afternoon concert on September 6th at 3 pm at The First Presbyterian Church of Sandusky, 265 Jackson Street. Admission is free and no tickets are required. Everyone is invited.
Two of the vocalists will be singing gospel songs during the 10 o’clock worship service.
Crowds from Los Angeles to The French Quarter have loved The Sounds of Soul’s outstanding voices, recognizable choreography, and distinct harmonies. They have appeared on the internationally syndicated show “Dance Connection”, and have shared the stage with The O’Jays, Bobby Brown, and the comedian, Sinbad.
The Sounds of Soul concert is part of the church’s 2026 Music Concert Series. Other performers in this year’s series have included Astralis chamber ensemble trio on April 11th, and spiritual folksinger, Carrie Newcomer, who performed in May 23rd. Coming up later this fall are a return of the Firelands Brass Quintet on October 25th , Trio Chimera a very talented contemporary music group, and a community-wide Christmas sing-along on Novembern27th. All these concerts are free. A freewill offering is received during each concert.
“We are thrilled to have Sounds of Soul returning to Sandusky and especially being able to have two of the vocalists sing gospel songs for our worship service that morning” said Richard Henderson, pastor of First Presbyterian. “I remember that the first standing ovation the group got at their first concert here in 2024 was when the lead singer, Gloria, sang a gospel song.” Dr Henderson pointed out that this is an opportunity to attend a first-class concert and be assured that it will be family-friendly and appropriate for all ages.
